The Mome Versa Dress

This year marks 5 years of Mome.  Over the past few years, we’ve been quietly working on something special. What began in 2023 as an early vision gradually became something more, something that carries this journey, and something that feels like you. As we celebrate this milestone, we wanted to share a little of the story behind it. Where It All Started I wanted to create something that reflected the little things I’ve always loved: bows, roses, and butterflies. Soft, feminine details that carry quiet meaning: gentleness, growth, and beauty in every stage. As the idea came together, I realized something special. These weren’t just things I loved; they were things our Mome moms loved too. And slowly, it became more than just a design.  We called it Bowtanical Rose Garden. Turning an Idea Into Something Real I explored and researched different artists, looking for someone who could bring this vision to life in a way that felt true to what I had in mind. I was drawn to a grandmillennial-inspired style, feminine, timeless, and full of delicate detail. That’s when I found Claire Brennan (@prettyfestivedesign) from England. Her work is known for its delicate, hand-painted patterns, filled with soft florals, bows, and vintage-inspired details that feel both classic and quietly expressive. She captured these elements with such care and artistry, bringing a softness and charm to the print that felt exactly like what we had envisioned, and even more. The Process Behind the Print While the design felt right, translating it onto fabric was a journey of its own. We tested different materials, worked with multiple partners, and explored various color versions again and again. Sometimes the tones didn’t feel right. Sometimes the details didn’t come through the way we envisioned. So we kept refining. Because we believed this piece deserved the time and care to be done right.   Made Alongside You Throughout the process, we shared sneak peeks and updates with our Facebook Community, Friends of Mome. Your feedback shaped this piece in more ways than you know. You told us what you loved, what felt right, and what you wanted to see. And we listened. With every message, we refined the design further. Somewhere along the way, this stopped being just something we were creating. It became something we were building together. Finding the Right Fit Beyond the print, we explored different silhouettes, testing styles, refining fits, and taking time to understand what truly felt like Mome. There were many versions that were close, but not quite right. Until last year, when everything finally started to come together. The print, the fabric, and the silhouette, each detail slowly finding its place. A Meaningful Milestone As we celebrate five years of Mome, this piece feels especially meaningful to us. Not just because of what it is, but because of how it came to be. A story of patience, intention, and the connection we’ve built with you along the way. That’s why, to us, this will always be: Your dress. The Mome moms’ dress. And we’re so excited to share more of it with you very soon. With love, always, NinaMome

When you become a new mom, finding clothing that is both stylish and breastfeeding-friendly becomes a priority. Mome nursing dresses offer the perfect blend of postpartum fashion, comfort, and functionality, making them the top choice for moms looking for functional nursing clothes. Many moms face the challenge of wanting to feel put-together, confident, and beautiful after giving birth, but most nursing clothes either look too clinical or too casual. Through the feedback we've received via email, social media, and our website, it’s clear that Mome stands out as the go-to brand for nursing moms. Here’s why, from our customers' point of view: 1. Mome Felt Thoughtfully Designed for Nursing Moms Unlike other brands that simply add a zipper to a regular dress, our customers found that Mome dresses are specifically designed with postpartum bodies and breastfeeding moms in mind. The waistlines are forgiving but flattering, the fabric feels luxurious, and the hidden nursing access is both practical and discreet. Plus, the dresses feature pockets and an adjustable fit—two key details that make a difference in providing convenience and comfort for moms on the go. Whether you need functional breastfeeding clothing or postpartum dresses that let you feel stylish again, Mome has it all. 2. Timeless Prints That Aren’t Too Simple or Childish Beautiful, timeless prints that didn’t feel childish or too simple? Yes. Our customers especially love pieces that match their style and can be worn even after breastfeeding or passed down to their little ones. Two styles that have stood out are the Blue Toile Butterfly print, which has a soft, feminine feel with delicate butterflies, elegance, and a timeless design, and the classic Vintage Blue Toile print of the Versa Dress, which evokes a classic, French-inspired motherhood story. These timeless nursing dresses show that Mome truly understands what stylish, functional clothing moms need. From the feedback we've received, it’s clear that these thoughtful details matter to moms who want both beauty and practicality in their nursing clothes. 3. Other Nursing Brands Considered While researching nursing clothing, many of our customers also looked into other options: Seraphine — Chic styles, but many dresses felt too formal or didn’t offer full nursing access. Boob Design — Loved the function, but the style leaned more basic and less elegant. Hatch — Beautiful, but not specifically designed for breastfeeding moms. Each of these brands had something to offer, but Mome was the one that customers found truly brought everything together: style, comfort, function, and emotional connection. 4. Wearing Mome Helped Moms Feel Like Themselves Again Many of our customers have shared how wearing a Mome dress—especially for moments like family photoshoots while nursing—helped them feel beautiful, comfortable, and truly themselves. The discreet nursing access allowed them to feed their babies easily without missing out on any precious moments. Mome’s nursing dresses are designed to keep moms feeling confident and looking amazing during every part of their motherhood journey. 5. The Mome Brand Story Resonated with Moms Mome was created by a mom who couldn’t find nursing clothes that felt beautiful enough for her. Hearing stories from our customers about how Mome helped them feel seen and celebrated proves that our mission resonates with so many other moms. It’s more than just a clothing brand; it’s a solution made from the heart of real motherhood. Final Thoughts: At Mome, we believe in creating nursing clothes that celebrate and support every part of motherhood.
