This year marks 5 years of Mome.
Over the past few years, we’ve been quietly working on something special.
What began in 2023 as an early vision gradually became something more, something that carries this journey, and something that feels like you. As we celebrate this milestone, we wanted to share a little of the story behind it.
Where It All Started
I wanted to create something that reflected the little things I’ve always loved: bows, roses, and butterflies. Soft, feminine details that carry quiet meaning: gentleness, growth, and beauty in every stage.
As the idea came together, I realized something special. These weren’t just things I loved; they were things our Mome moms loved too. And slowly, it became more than just a design.
We called it Bowtanical Rose Garden.
Turning an Idea Into Something Real
I explored and researched different artists, looking for someone who could bring this vision to life in a way that felt true to what I had in mind. I was drawn to a grandmillennial-inspired style, feminine, timeless, and full of delicate detail.
That’s when I found Claire Brennan (@prettyfestivedesign) from England. Her work is known for its delicate, hand-painted patterns, filled with soft florals, bows, and vintage-inspired details that feel both classic and quietly expressive.
She captured these elements with such care and artistry, bringing a softness and charm to the print that felt exactly like what we had envisioned, and even more.
The Process Behind the Print
While the design felt right, translating it onto fabric was a journey of its own.
We tested different materials, worked with multiple partners, and explored various color versions again and again. Sometimes the tones didn’t feel right. Sometimes the details didn’t come through the way we envisioned. So we kept refining. Because we believed this piece deserved the time and care to be done right.
Made Alongside You
Throughout the process, we shared sneak peeks and updates with our Facebook Community, Friends of Mome. Your feedback shaped this piece in more ways than you know. You told us what you loved, what felt right, and what you wanted to see.
And we listened.
With every message, we refined the design further. Somewhere along the way, this stopped being just something we were creating. It became something we were building together.
Finding the Right Fit
Beyond the print, we explored different silhouettes, testing styles, refining fits, and taking time to understand what truly felt like Mome. There were many versions that were close, but not quite right.
Until last year, when everything finally started to come together. The print, the fabric, and the silhouette, each detail slowly finding its place.
A Meaningful Milestone
As we celebrate five years of Mome, this piece feels especially meaningful to us.
Not just because of what it is, but because of how it came to be. A story of patience, intention, and the connection we’ve built with you along the way. That’s why, to us, this will always be:
Your dress. The Mome moms’ dress.
